Be Of Value

Posted by The Rev. Albert Bailey on Saturday, March 29, 2014, In : Receiving The Word

Scriptural Ground

But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue (1 Corinthians 14:19 NIV).

Prayer of Approach

Sovereign Lord, it is to be of service to others that you have placed me in your household of faith. Put before me that which you intend me to address as I seek to be an effective representative of your presence among those with whom you have called me to serve. Strengthen me in the knowledge of the contributio...

All the brothers and sisters here send you greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss (1 Corinthians 16:20 NIV).

Living God, bring into being the relationship with you that you want to exist. Draw me nearer to you this day that your Name may be more precious in my sight. Almighty God, Source of strength for living and hope for the future, let me be empowered by your grace to fulfill your will and expectations of me as I turn to you in this moment. It is you who drew me to yourself. It is you who gave me a place in your household of...

Almighty God from whom comes life, strengthen me now for the task that is ahead, the task that will reveal whether you are respected or whether you are rejected. You have assigned me this responsibility. You have granted me this opportunity to ser...

Hold On To Christ

Scriptural Ground

Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. (1 Timothy 6:12 NIV)

Prayer of Approach

You have called me, O God, to be a witness to your eternal reality and supreme power. Strengthen me when that which opposes your work in my life seeks to destroy what you have called me to do for your glory. Cause me to dwell in your presence that my mind may not be ...

About the Lord

The Bible teaches that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23 NIV). It is also written that "the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23 NIV). Do you know that "God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" John 3:16 NIV)? It is also written: "He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed." (1 Peter 2:24 NIV). Jesus said: "I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in" (Revelation 3:20 NIV). Dear friend, what is happening in your life? Are you experiencing the effects of sin, the evidence of death? Jesus died on the cross, bearing your sins so that you would not perish in death. Do hear His invitation to open your being and your life to Him that you may not continue to perish. Say this prayer that you may receive God's gift of eternal life right now: Lord Jesus, there is the presence of sin and the evidence of death in my life. Thank you for bearing my sins on the Cross. I need the gift of eternal life. In your Name, Lord Jesus, I do now open every door of my being and of my life to you. Come in and let me experience all that eternal life is meant to be for me. Thank you for hearing my prayer. Amen.
