Serve Him Well

Posted by The Rev. Albert Bailey on Monday, March 24, 2014, In : Receiving The Word

Scriptural Ground

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving (Colossians 3:23-24 NIV).

Prayer of Approach

Eternal God, you have granted me access to the employment that I have. You awaken me with each new day and empower me to fulfill the responsibilities that have been assigned to me. You cause me to benefit from the wor...

Prayer of Approach

There is a season, O God, in which you call your people to be equipped properly for the work that must be done. Give us eyes to see clearly the environment in which we are called to work. Teach us to encourage one another to be attentive to the demands of fulfilling the tasks assigned to o...

About the Lord

The Bible teaches that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23 NIV). It is also written that "the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23 NIV). Do you know that "God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" John 3:16 NIV)? It is also written: "He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed." (1 Peter 2:24 NIV). Jesus said: "I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in" (Revelation 3:20 NIV). Dear friend, what is happening in your life? Are you experiencing the effects of sin, the evidence of death? Jesus died on the cross, bearing your sins so that you would not perish in death. Do hear His invitation to open your being and your life to Him that you may not continue to perish. Say this prayer that you may receive God's gift of eternal life right now: Lord Jesus, there is the presence of sin and the evidence of death in my life. Thank you for bearing my sins on the Cross. I need the gift of eternal life. In your Name, Lord Jesus, I do now open every door of my being and of my life to you. Come in and let me experience all that eternal life is meant to be for me. Thank you for hearing my prayer. Amen.
